So it looks like my brand new 7D has a dead pixel. whats anoying is that when i import to lightroom it automatically corrects it. for $1500 its not acceptable to me so it looks like ill be sending it back : (

No, there is a reason you usually get deals on electronics online. Almost everything is binned based on how it performs. Seemingly identical memory, LCDs, cameras, etc get sorted and the best stuff is sent to the big box stores. The 'good enough to sell' stuff then goes to the online discount retailers such as newegg.

Check if the manufacturer allows returns for dead pixels. I remember IBM (yea, laptops, diff story) said 3 dead pixels are ok, irc.
It's annoying when you know the bitch is there and you look for it every time.

So I talked to amazon this afternoon and they sent me a replacement with Overnight shipping for free it says it will be here tomorrow.
It might be a cluster. it's definitely noticeable especially in video. I'd post a pic but LR auto fixes it, so I can't save a cropped pic of the pixel. So that's that. Don't care if it wasn't a big deal I spent a lot of money for it. It needs to be perfect!

file corruption. ..i'd take a look at your memory card that your using,... or analyse your downloading process from your camera. it's unlikely that the purple lines were generated in post-processing after the files were already digitally stored on your computer.
