Thanks guys. I can't complain I've been doing some fun stuff lately. Just sad my battery was dead on the boating trip I just did. :(

Checked out the fuji x100 and decided to pass. :/

I wish there was a fast wide angle prime for nikon that wasn't 1800 dollars...

I'm pretty familiar with nikon's lineup...

35mm on a 1.5 crop DX sensor isn't very wide. On FX it's approaching wide. Wide angle lenses on FX are 1000-2000 or there is the 20/24mm 2.8 lens but that just isn't fast enough for me. They just need a 20-24mm lens that's 1.8 or faster and reasonably priced. Or wait for the 24mm 1.4 to drop in price like the Canon has.

Thats kinda what I figured You want something closer to a true 35mm even with the crop.

Sigma 24mm f/1.8 is fairly reasonable at less than 400 for a really nice used one. and even with the crop factor you are at 36mm. But yeah I know what you mean on the prices. Just have to save and invest.

I tried the sigma but it's not a very reliable lens. And nothing is more frustrating than having ruined shots to poor equipment.

Thinking a jump to the d700 is a good move to enjoy my 35mm f/2 but then my wide angle lens is out of commission (12-24mm dx).

Ah well, it's good fun. Just need to shoot more!

This was one of my main reasons for going to FX. It doesnt make lenses cheaper but it makes primes wider, my 35 1.8 was really wide and really fast, it was great for parties and anything close up like that but it did vignette so I couldnt use it for serious stuff. I sold it and grabbed a 50 1.8 for the mean time. I plan on grabbing the 35 f/2, thats still pretty quick. But yeah Canon is so lucky to have the 28 1.8

Yeah they are, I thought about switching to canon for lenses like that. I already own the 35 f/2 and 80-200 2.8 so d700 is very appealing.

I know you are loving yours...
