I'm thinking of upgrading the 18-135 lens on my 60D. Any suggestions? A good walk around lens.Comment

I would change that idea to a 28-135 USM IS That what I have been using for my walk around lens. You have a good body, put the best glass you can in front of it. For a walk around and spending a little more money I would be getting a 24-105 F4 L. I have a 18-135 on there now, which is sort of disappointing in terms of performance. I have looked at the 24-105 but its performance will be limited on a crop body sensor (so I hear).Comment

Your not going too lose much on the wide end going from 18mm -24mm but yes you will be loseing a little bit of reach on the long side.
All depends on what your every day shooting consists of. I see your in NYC, How often are you shooting at your full zoom capability, with that lens? That lens is also fairly soft from 90mm on (as are most of the non L's I have seen) Go back though you pics and look and see where you are shooting the bulk of your shots form a Focal length perspective, if your shooting a lot form 100-135 then yeah you might be right and feel limited. but if your mostly 35-100 then you more than likely wont miss that little extra reach at all.
I shoot mostly nature and landscapes so I use the shit outta my 28-135, but I really dont think I would notice the loss of that last 30mm of zoom in my case as most of the time if I am wanting "more close" I have my telephoto on anyway.
But even when I upgrade to the 24-105L I will be keeping my 28-135 USM, as its a great lens and I seem to have a good copy other than mine zoom creeps like a SOB.Last edited by mrsleeve; 12-31-2011, 04:14 PM.The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money. -Alexis de TocquevilleOriginally posted by FusionIf a car is the epitome of freedom, than an electric car is house arrest with your wife titty fucking your next door neighbor.

haha its my basket case of a suzuki.
GS500 with SV650 rear wheel and K6 GSXR front forks and 02 hayabusa front wheel and rotors. A spacer from a Honda CB1000RR was used to space the radial mounted calipers 5mm to accommodate the rotors.
It's slow as balls, but is light and nimble. Plenty fast for me.
