What? That doesn't even make sense. There are only 2 Porsches (body styles) that are front engine RWD. 1. The 944, and other of the same body style. 2. The Pamamera.

All other Porsches are rear engine rear drive.

How does a Corvette play into this in any way? Corvettes have always been front engine rear drive, and a Corvette is not a Porsche. So, please elaborate.

Cheyenne, 928, and i think the number you were looking for is 924. 968 if you look past the part that it's a 944 s3 basically

The cheyenne is a chevy pickup truck. It's cayenne. And there was the 924, 928, 944, 968, panamara, and cayenne that were front engine/rwd.

And BimmerTim, not all others are rear engine/rwd. I see you've forgotten the cararra GT, the boxter, the cayman, the 914, the 911 Turbo, the C4S, and likely a few others that are either mid engined or rear engine with awd.

WAY TOO EXPENSIVE. I know a Porsche Mechanic that gave his up cause it was making him broke constantly.. And he got stuff for cost..

I like them, but I don't wanna work on one.

Ever since she watched Sixteen Candles a while back, my wife has been saying that she wants one. In other words, I'll probably be maintaining one in the not-too-distant future.

Love em, almost bought one but went for the E30 instead, 944 parts are insanely expensive and 944s have many problems and nit-picky things that can easily go wrong. I do like em though. I really like Datsuns, especially the 240z. I love a lot of things.

LOL! I feel your pain. My other half wants an 850...

I've had 944 thoughts as well... partly because I'd like to play in E-Stock with something other than a Miata or a MR2... and partly because I pass one for sale at the local Lotus dealer every day.

Correct me if Im wrong but I believe he is referring to the fact that they are both front mounted engines with rear mounted transmission. The new z06 and the 944 turbos have the engine connected to the driveshaft connected to a rear transmission. I think he just took your comment a little out of context.

A nice, well maintained, clean 951 would be a dream car. That said, it'd probably be double digits in price.

I like 911's. Almost all generations.. 1969 being my favorite year, followed by 1972, the narrowbody 993's, 996 C4S's, and the 997. But the motor is ultimately in the wrong place.

Cayman, Boxter, and 914 are all mid engine, and the 928 & Cayenne are front engine - rear drive.

I miss my 968. One of the best handling cars on the planet. E30 comes damn close ;) but the later 951s were much faster.

ETA: did I really write that a Porsche was FWD? WTF is wrong with me?
