You are only looking at the "bad" side of things. Yes we have crocked cops, like this is something new here? But, justice will be served regardless if the cop is piece of shit or not.

Then we have the "good" side of things. Everything has it's opposites. The bad guys make it hard for the good guys to maintain their reputation. Because the bad paint the bad picture for everyone involved. Now you got all this pressure to maintain this and added pressure from guys who hate cops giving the good guy a hard time, repeatedly. Think of how hard it would be to stay straight and good in all that shit going on?

you have to think outside the box and the bigger picture.

not saying cops aren't bad, but not all cops are....I've been nasty to some and really nice to some and even nice to some and they were nasty with me. it didn't get me further to retaliate. It would have escalated and then he would have used the law to his advantage. Yes, abuse of power indeed; but I'm not here to become a martyr!! You get further using your brains then you do emotion.

Not sure what you're trying to say here, but read the article being discussed. The conversation is about that particular officers actions, not every police officer ever.

How does this still happen in this day and age? Why does it seem like so many police forces are evil? Since when was the law a series of technicalities that can get you pulled and searched at any time? I swear, every time I read a story like this, I can't help but think how fucked we are if we don't start protesting for reform. It sucks that some random dude's life is basically ruined because of some horse shit like this

That's fucked up. I can't believe the cop, after failing twice to get any prosecutions, kept going and is still pursuing this guy and ruining his life. Talk about a power-trip.

that's not what I am writing about. I'm merely stating that regardless, there is good and bad everywhere. Sometimes for whatever reason, people get the raw end of the stick. Wrongful convictions etc. Jail time served by the innocent. The law regardless of what people might get away with isn't perfect. This is the problem with the justice system.

That cop should be lynched in a public square for nothing less than an abuse of power and the prosecuter that took the job should be sent to egypt to be raped.

I will be surprised if the bmw guy is acquitted of the charges. The officer is trying to cover himself and abusing his power. The prosecution is just in it for the money, etc. It is a shame really but its seems to me at least that in our justice system, this happens all too often.
(Like the case where a guy broke into someones house then broke his leg while trying to steal some property and sued the owner, and won the case)

Wow, this reminds me of what I witnessed a couple of years back. A dumb ass motorcycle cop pulled out right in front of a car trying to pursue another car. The car he pulled in front of locked up his brakes to not hit the cop and caused an accident. The cop came back to investigate the accident, and wrote a ticket to the guy. I was driving the other way and stayed to report what I saw. The cop said I was lying about it, but I have known the chief and the primary investigator for about 10 years. They took my statement and told that cop he was full of shit. Well he no longer works for our local PD.
Man I hope this guy gets justice, but I doubt he will.

                            happens way too often....

the worst part is we can do nothing but rely on the "goodness" of our cops. Pray to whatever deity you believe that you won't ever hit a cop, and that a cop will never hit you. If it happens, your life will be over.

Fuck I always assume cops are on the level when dealing with them but I'll be damned if I'm not leery of every single one. Any cops I've ever dealt with have been pretty good and most have given me breaks (lessening tickets, verbal warnings, etc.) but I know all it would take is one little mistake on my part and a cop could fuck me over hard.
