    ΔV = βVT

    The thermal
    expansion of gas-o-lean is 950 β (10−6 K−1) (http://physics.info/expansion/)

    So if the temp changes 5 degrees between day and night (underground, I think that's fair) you'd have a change of filling up a 14 gallon e30's tank....

    day 50 degrees Fahrenheit = 283.15 kelvin
    night 55 degrees Fahrenheit = 285.927778 kelvin

    Lets just say 5 degrees K.

    0.00095(1/K) * 5K = 0.00475 (no units) time 14 gallons = 0.0047 gallons difference between day and night.

    Or about 3 teaspoons. Yea, I'm totally going to do that to save 1.9 cents..

      and no really the bulk of the taxes paid on fuel are supposed to go for infrastructure spending. But IIRC the study I read a while back the lions share of it is hijacked not for the DoD but for entitlements
      Yeah, spend more on defense than the rest of the world combined to buy ourselves 'cheap' fuel at the pump but thats not the problem. Blame entitlements. Thats rich.

        awww how cute you are one of the war for oil people, shove off adults are talking in the thread

        DoD budget = 500b Roughly per year Entitlements form feds = 787b Roughly 787 is bigger than 500.

        Raxe its not that I dont feel bad for the individuals that are caught having to pay such prices on a personal level. Really I do, but thats where it ends, if they really had issue with it they would be pushing to end such abuse in their countries. And with all the news I read from the world over when I have the time, I dont see this happening. Not to its not, I just have not seen much evidence is all

        All I see is bitching pointed at the wrong people, US because we dont have the tax burden attached to our fuel they do. Dont bitch to me for something your country men for decades has sold you down the river on. DO something about it, OR take your free shit from the govt and be marry.

        What we pay for in HC premiums or directly for care more than makes up for the what they pay for in fuel prices. You dont hear me bitching about HC pricing you hear me bitching about the GOVT taking it over.

            I recommend purchasing large amounts of gasoline and storing it in a basement or garage for a few years until gas prices have risen considerably. Sell gasoline and profit.
