Guess no more mods for awhile.

I'm 17, just started working for Unicom (videotron). Paid by hour with a "choice" to get paid per job. So I got to a point where i'm getting good at my job and start producing 20 drops a day for my employer. Isn't it funny that when I start asking to get paid per drop (which is a choice he gave me) They suddenly don't have any work and I get laid off.

Hourly = 500 I was making per week...
Drop I would have been making 1200$ per week

I guess being the best is not always rewarding, I was too good for my own f'n good. At least I got some knowledge out of it right? Bye bye ground control for while, bye bye rs's

You worked yourself out of a job. Almost did this once with a job and everyone else in the organization told me to slow down or 1. I would have nothing to do or 2. They would get rid of me. Hopefully you find something else soon!

Why would they be upset with you completing jobs? They are still making money on it. It should not matter how much you do because it is a set payment for each job correct?

Maybe you got fired because you're smelly...

Anyways, good luck there is tons of jobs to be had. Everyone just is lazy in this day and age. You sound like a hard worker!

They didn't give you a warning? If not, you should complain back to them. That's like keeping a kid after school, you need a 24 hour notice at least. But you are in Canada so I don't know about your work ethics there.

I wanted to know also, is it fun living there in Montreal? I mean is it quiet and criminal activities are lower than here in San Diego?

No warning I got there at 6, got all my stuff in order and went up to my employer for instructions on the jobs of the day and he sent me and my friend on our way. I was only there for about a month so by law I believe they don't have to warn me, one minute I was happy about my soon double salary and the next I'm sad and jobless. Oh well. Life goes on, this means I need to find something better...

Montreal north (not to be racist, I'm not) is full of black people and (not making a unfounded correlation) full of crime... Other parts of Montreal have very pleasant neighborhoods and almost no crime. I live up north at the moment, very quiet and peaceful, overall a great place to live man. You never hear of ANY crime where I live. The roads are what they are thought to be, sadly... You can still find good ones though and it's livable with a decent drop (H&R race billie sports) so I guess it isn't THAT bad.. In the summer it gets to be 30 degrees celcius and in the winter it can get to the same number, but negative. Less sometimes. Parking in Montreal is a pain in the winter. If you have any questions feel free to ask me :P I'm here to help!:D

Not at 17! OP, go find work with other companies/agencies that will pay you well and gain some more "corporate" experience. then when you get out of college be your own boss.

Do you have records of your performance at the job? Any documentation of how you grew your client base? If so, find a commissioned sales position somewhere. They'll be happy to hire you based on the fact that you know how to develop a territory. You want easy money, go into commissioned sales and put in the same effort. Not sure where to direct you though since you're 17 and don't have a degree.
