Also I am a huge V-neck guy. I would love some e30 merch on v-necks.

I'd buy an E30 themed speedo.

          Get on it!

is this going to be one of the threads where OP has an idea to make clothing but never actually goes through with it?

Those thoughts have crossed my mind, and it's actually deterred me away from even doing culinary for the past year or so. But I plan on being a "mom and pop" type of restaurant, and see where it goes from there. I know what you mean about letting teenagers and other people working there, I've worked in food industry before and have seen people stealing food and money and everything else. I have family who also enjoy cooking and the atmosphere of owning a restaurant, as this wouldn't be the first time my family was in on one. It's something I'm extremely passionate about, and I would love to be able to learn and advance my skills in this profession. I want to be my own boss, I've worked in too many environments where I've been treated like shit and screwed over.

No sir, I'm collecting the ideas from this thread and will begin ordering inventory to work with this month.

                So far on the list the definite sellers, based on responses would be;

T shirts, vnecks, key chains, sweat pants, bmw stitched emblems, possibly light zip up jackets.

My idea for keychains was going to order matchbox e30 cars and m3's, and painting them individually the color(s) that the buyer wants.

I'm not going to over order, as I want to see how this all pans out and make sure I don't lose too much money on it.

Please keep your item requests coming.

Yes.. zip up hoody. Deep grey, blue, green... interesting colors. Anything e30 or bmw. Could do cool placement of whatever images you decide on. Such as having an e30 outline along the lower left front slightly wrapping around the side. Keep it interesting and different. Could do standard placement as well, like a bmw logo over the left nipple area and an e30 acros the back, etc.

Thank you, you have some great ideas and I will definitely put them to use. I'd like to do a mix of logos, outlines, and perhaps a "drawing" of one.

I'm probably going to order a few smalls and the rest medium to xl and big and tall sizes. Most grown men aren't xxs or anything like that. If you are I apologize.

I'll be honest, I'm going to start out with shirts first. I'll do the V-necks and T's, just please let me know what top 3 colors you want the t's and v-necks to be for now. Once the shirts start selling and you are happy with them, I want to move on to other things. I need to spend money to make money, and don't want too much product that I'll never sell. Thank you again for all your ideas everyone!

It's not that i need a huge shirt just a tall one... most shirts shrink even 2xl if they are not 2xl tall... Its not worth spending money on a shirt someone can wear once...

Nah man that's fine totally understandable. My shirts from AE always shrink shorter too, it's a pain in the ass. I'll be sure to do that, thank you for your help dude. Everyone have a good night!

I am not sure you will be able to make enough profit to make this self sustaining. There aren't enough people in the world who want e30 apparel. A few people on this board sell shirts an apparel in addition to their main business. However, if this is going to be your only business, I would do some more research before you just jump into this.

There are approximately 25,000 members on this board, but usually no more than 500 viewing at any one time. Any you can bet that not all 25000 members will buy your apparel. lets say that on a given week all 500 members bought a t-shirt for 10 dollars, that would be 5000 dollars in revenue. Now subtract from that your price for each shirt you buy, then subtract the cost of printing or embroidering them. If you could get the shirts wholesale for 5 dollars, that just cost you an initial 2500. Now you have to print or embroider them, lets say for an additional 2 dollars per shirt. Now you are left with 1500 dollars. Then you have to subtract the time you put into making those shirts for that week, maybe 40 total hours at 10 dollars per hour this leaves in total 1100 dollars in your pocket. Which would be quite good in a week.

Then you have to figure that not everyone wants the same product in the same size, which will drive up costs more possibly driving up the amount of time you have to spend making them leaving you with less that 1100 dollars. Then most likely, you will not have returning customers, which means the demand at some point will fall off dramatically, and if you have stock piled product this may leave you at a loss.

Tell me if I am wrong on this, it is just a thought. I'm sure if you are really serious about this then you have already thought of all of what I mentioned.
