thinking about upgrading to windows 7, is it worth it

I have Vista premium now and its pretty nice but i was thinking if 7 was any better or is it pretty junkie. I don't really play games just browse forums and buy parts for the most part.

Anyone have experience with it and do you like it?

Vista has always felt sluggish to me, Windows 7 seems to perform a bit better.

The biggest change to Windows 7 from a users perspective is the new task bar "dock", which makes it easily to navigate your programs when you have a lot of stuff running. I really appreciate this, as I have a lot of stuff running on my system (3 Chrome, 2 Firefox, 8 Virtual Machines, and about 8 others programs). If you don't really do much on your system you won't really see the benefits from this.

I guess if you can get Windows 7 for cheap it might be worthwhile, but unless you have issues with Windows Vista you probably won't really see many benefits from upgrading.

It's definitely worth it and I agree with baloosh.Windows 7 is like vista with a fusion of xp and runs a whole lot smoother. Where are you located in PA?

i have windows 7 on this laptop, vista business on my desktop, and xp pro on my other laptop. I prefer XP. probably going to downgrade the OS on this laptop sometime this week.
