thinking about upgrading to windows 7, is it worth it

i have windows 7 on this laptop, vista business on my desktop, and xp pro on my other laptop. I prefer XP. probably going to downgrade the OS on this laptop sometime this week.

I wouldn't recommend that. You can't run XP forever, you might as well get used to the way that new user interfaces are going. XP is a security disaster, you are practically begging to get viruses, there is almost no security built into the XP.

I just made the jump, after a few hours of tweaking 7 it's great! I'm running a massive storage system (12TBs so far - adding 4TBs more soon) and a heavily overclocked AMD Quadcore. Over all 7 handles everything that I've thrown at it.

I finally bucked up and upgraded after having crashed my XP hdd a couple thousand times. I'm happy with the interface (after I tweaked it). Not as great a UI as my mac but then again my macbook's hardware is shit!
