I work for Union Pacific, GOOD LUCK lol fighting this ticket. It's private property good luck doing anything to them; this is a billion dollar company they do what they want.

BTW Union Pacific police patrol due to vandalism and theft, NOT FOR PROFIT.

We have tons of copper theft and vandalism, good luck.

Edwin, i don't mean to spoil your photo thread when i finish editing, but so that people get a
clear picture of what happened; consider it a teaser...

          this is where we were

this is where the other group was (as relevant or irrelevant it may be) also i know they
were not there on permit and just wandering as we were, enjoying the landscape and
taking some photos, because they asked us when we got there, what the best way to
get into the river bank was. The river bank is over the wall that they are sitting on, in the
          broken section of fencing.

the white Chrysler belonged to the other group, the street in the back is Meyers street and not
Mission Road as written on the ticket.

for what it matters, this is the location, fully accessible to anyone on foot or car, no signs posted anywhere about RR property or trespassing.

and if how close we were to those tracks brings up a question, this is the same tracks we were
close to, not on the track, but close to...

perhaps if we were behind this gate, i'd understand...

street to the left is Meyers, again, fully accessible to public.

white chrysler is their car, bulding far in the background is "color graphics" 150 n meyers st.

and here was the lots security guard that came out to ask the cops what was going on,
(spoke to him afterwards) and the other group had had their talking and left in their car.

*btw E, nvmd the lenscap, i found it tucked in a pocket of microfibers in my bag.

The RR does not need no trespassing signs, Union Pacific has 33,000 miles of track. Its not going to have signs posted for people to steal or vandalize.

              I hate cops. Nuff said.
I've only met one cop that had a good personality, and that's because I was honest with him and he was honest with me. None of that powerplay bullshit.

They probably just had tiny dicks.

No offense, but I can't stand this perspective. Laws are put into place for the purpose of resolving specific issues. Law enforcement regularly applies laws in a way that is unrelated to their original intended result.

Was the OP obstructing train traffic? No. Was the OP damaging or vandalizing railroad property? no. Was anyone in danger?? No. The officers should have given the trespassers a verbal warning and requested that they leave the premises. Instead, they acted like dickheads.

OP: the railroad is legally very powerful, I've heard some crazy stories. Best of luck to you!

Well if he was within 8 feet of the track with his vehicle he is obstructing vehicles because they are required to slow down if that is the case. If he was standing 4 feet from the track then he is obstructing traffic, trains are required to slow down or stop if people are within 4 feet. He may of been near a work zone or a sensitive area. There may of been a high sensitive train moving toxic waste, government materials, or had higher up Union Pacific people on a scout or passenger train in the area. You never know why the cops did what they did. The Union Pacific Police deal with trespassers and vandals all the time, YES they could of been nice. But they weren't, they did there job. Did they do there job with other people, no; but they get to make the decision.

I hate read your post but only because you sound right. I've spoken to enough people today and they assure me, that it's not as bad as I'm making it out to be. Hopefully it's a lesser amount than what is posted on the web site. :(

I understand what you're saying, but where are the trains? My point is writing the ticket didn't make trains or people safer. It would be more effective for the officers to carry with them gruesome pictures of train accidents and explain to people the dangers of lingering near the tracks.

Like you stated, as did I, they could've been nice but they weren't. Dickheads.

                              E30e...no, just no.

Of course their motive is revenue. Why do you think it's a billion dollar industry? They KNEW these guys weren't here for vandalism or theft, they saw an opportunity to make a quick thousand and substantiate their jobs.

I'm sure they got a hand job when they got back to HQ for writing these guys up.
