    Top Gear - Invincible truck

First, we got jipped on the whole Toyota Hilux episode. They not only drowned it in the ocean, set it on fire, crashed it through sheds, hit it with a wrecking ball, as we saw last night... but they also put it at the top of a building that was to be imploded. The thing survived it all!

    Full broadband clip (Real Player)

You can watch a couple of the Top Gear features (legally) from BBC here.

I love this show... you can never tell what they are going to do. I was cracking up when they said they rented that VW from an airport for their lightening experiment and then returned it with the paint flaking off the roof.

And yes... whenever I visit my family in England I always want to rent a car... but paying $9/gallon for gas would put me in shock.

I watched that episode last night too. Jeremy absolutely tortured the thing....I thought for sure the ocean was its death nail. Then again, having owned a Toyota 4x4 for 7 years I shouldn't be too shocked. Those things are freakin' built to take it.

I need another one to thrash someday

For me... just the fact that it was in the freaking OCEAN for 5 hrs! After what, a couple hours of working on it they got it to run again? That mechanic must be a god among mortals. Then they set the freaking thing on fire! And it still started! Probably not from the steering column, they probably had to jump it from under what was left of the hood.
