wow, while I agree with the amount of money govts take in for road maintenance and building (been siphoned off for entitlement programs) we should have much much better roads in general we are far far from 3rd world roads

here read just a little bit of this these are 3rd world roads

Try pushing/turning a front wheel, you'll be surprised how much easier it is to get the car rolling. Not the easiest for a long haul but a for short distance it's great.

I find myself watching out for these shitty road gap fills more than potholes lately. Its kinda of like gap where they'd reseal an overpass on a highway before and after the bridge, but do a shit job. With all the snow they always get pulled up by the plows in the winter and then when the repatch them they're essential making a small speed bump. I can avoid most potholes from driving low cars my whole driving life, but with these they're sometimes hard to judge and cover the whole lane. :-x

Last year i went with my dad to Chicago, went on the sky-way road, ( dad was pissed that my iphone navigating put us on a toll road, fml) anyway there was this part where the road deck panels had dropped by like 3-5 inches, massive pot holes and even small-medium size holes near the sides where you could see through the road deck, i shit you not.

part of it was torn up, (no one working as per usual) and the lane that was open to traffic was filled with the above listed shittyness. its probably all rebuilt now though.

When I did my M50 swap the first thing I noticed is how INCREDIBLY low the E34 pan hangs. I had virtually no money to my name, but I still ordered the raceskids plate without a single regret. It's saved me shitloads of times no doubt. Though I didn't have money for gas for a while

Why you mad though? Because you suck at driving your "lowered" e30 and you keep breaking pans? SHHHEEEEIIIT.

no they dont. 300# fronts no skidplate in seattle pretty much everyday. bumstops and a pair of eyeballs save pans. 3 fingers of pan clearance maybe 4 on a good day

I've driven through SF, Oakland, Vallejo, Sacramento, Santa Rosa, and a shit more places with an M42 pan, and I've only ever made use of my skidplate like, twice. And both times, it was being from forced to drive over an item on the road itself. It did eventually bend the skidplate up towards the oil pan, but it never shattered it. I spaced it down with no ill effects, aside from less ground clearance.

But, oh well. :\ Sorry you broke your pan, yo.
