Sighting in an M16A2 at 35 feet is the same setup as sighting in at 300 yards.

My M40A1 weighed 14.5lbs and was 44" long and had a effective range of 1000 yards.
But was know to have a Max effective range of 1500 yards.

The Fifty Cal. Barrett M82A1/3 had a Max effective range of 1800 meters.
