Chevy power steering help needed! Get in here!

Ok i'm sure some of you have done the dreadful job of swapping power steering pumps on the lt1 5.7 chevy trucks. I have a 99 suburban and my mother bought me the pump without the reservoir so now I need to find a way to swap the reservoir on the the new pump.

Can one of you help me?

I can't seem to get the pressure switch thing off the back.

          Grab propane torch
          Light it up.
          Throw in truck.
          Walk away.
Have a beer and enjoy the fireworks for a job well done.

Nope, I don't believe in kids.
Or a carrying a bazillion people.

If I need to haul a car to the track, or a huge load, or the moon, I pull out the 5.9l Ram ;)

(I'm not a chevy or dodge or ford hater. THe dodge was cheap, it's a turbo diesel, and it easily gets any job I need done)

I just don't understand why people use gas engines for big trucks. So inefficient and wasteful.

ERRRR scuse me !!! Go fuck your self

You dont even know which engine you were dealing with, and there is plenty of room to work under the hood of 99, I have one as a matter of fact. You have to get some of the other shit outta the way but there is tons of room under the hood of the GM full size trucks even with the big blocks especially of that era. TO work on them most of the time you have sit in the engine bay with the fucking motor to even work on it HOW THE FUCK IS THAT SMALL???

I have needs and uses for trucks and SUV's thats why I own them. Where I live not everything is paved nor plowed in the winter time, We have lots of roads that are little more than 2 tracks, we have hobbies that require large trailers and hauling shit around.

Speaking of craming shit in, have you worked on ANYTHING newer than about 97??? Other than the Full size truck lines from the big 3 there is NO ROOM in anything to work on it. Not to say there is tons of room in the newer ones either but come on.

that and I have never had to fuck with the PS pump on anything gm other than flush and refill, and 99% of everything I have owned is GM.

Ha! but I bet working on a small block 302 is tons easier aaaaand I'm putting out the same torque as your 5.7! what's the code name for that engine anyway? I swear I thought it was one of the LT motors no? no lies, I'm an idiot when it comes to GM.

And dude, you don't have to reason to me why you have a truck. I totally get it. hell, I think every man that is on this forum should have a truck assuming they own an e30.

ummm there is a reason things are called small block.............. the out side dimensions of the engine are about the same size. Really there is not that much difference in physical size from a ford 302 and gm 350. the numbers you are referencing are Displacements (the volume the pistons displace) not overall size, seems like you should know this. If its a 3/4 burb with a gen VI 454 big block then you have a little less room as they are a little bigger, but I have a had 93 and 98 trucks with that engine in it and you still have lots of room under there to sit in the engine bay and work.

The engine code your looking for is L31 aka the vortec 350
