    Top Gear - Ferrari Enzo/Super Car then-and-now

Anybody catch this one last night? I thought it was pretty good... kinda personifies our attraction to the older BMWs versus the new ones.

That was one thing I could never wrap my brain around. How an 11 year old car showed that we had the technology to make a street legal car go 240 mph, but the recent batch of supercars miss that top speed mark, granted they excel at handling, but that gorgeous Ferrari F40 was awesome.

I dunno... I agree that a super car should be brutish... its not going to be your first choice to take the family out in, its not going to have Sat Nav, it should just be what it is... pure driving thrill.

That titling bikish-carish thing, the Carver, was kinda cool. The Dutch are so nutty.

Is this the one with the Porscha Carrera GT, Mclaren F1, Jaguar XJ220 and the Zonda? If so that was a sweet ass episode, all those supercars shown at once just about broke me into a seizure.

I dl'd this however, I didn't watch it on the tv.

There's no way he bought that car for $1... he must have been like "Hi... I'm Jeremy Clarkson... give me your car for a buck"

Yeah... that Jag was fucking sweet.

Be sweet if you could buy cars here with the taxes paid ahead of time and not have to pay for them in addition to the car.

If I could get an Audi like that for $200 bucks I would thats for sure.

part of the reason that modern supercars have 'lower' top ends is because of sort of a gentlemans' agreement amongst the makers to end the top speed wars. Also european roads are getting congested just like US highways (to some extent), sort of invalidating a huge top end. 0-150 is where its at anyway...

yea I think there was some sarcasm in the mix when he said that. I don't think he's 70.

This episode was funny and entertaining. Those contests between the 3 guys are always rigged though.
