If anyone gets offended because a few kids (thats what we are for the most part) makes a few cracks, they need to lighten up. Getting pissed wont do a damn thing towards mending the 'wounds' of racism. Just like governments and banks apologizing won't.

There are still plenty of valid excuses. Like that black people are better at running because their wider noses move 15% more air or that a lot of inner city kids are fucked because of their parents and environment. Trust me, instead of college I could easily be finish a mandatory minimum for intent to distribute. A lot of the kids I grew up with are still there.

Most of my friends are second gen, Adil still goes back to India to visit all his relatives. They aren't allowed to fail, their parents always have stories about hard childhoods that blow old cracker stories away.

An aquantance of mine back in college got so drunk one time that he told a black kid (I forget his name, but he was a really nice guy) that blacks were better athletes because they were bred like that, the strong were bred with the strong. Now that is a hate crime I would loved to have seen cos that white guy was an asshole. But the black guy just told him to go sober his ass up. There was a lot of apologizing afterwards because the two of them were really good friends.

I agree with Ryan though... we just need to loose our hangups. I laugh my ass off at Chris Rock and what not when they make fun of other races... to me it relieves the tension. There have been a couple of white guys too who have successfully done black jokes without "crossing that PC line".

If we make it something that we can all laugh about, then there will be less hate around it. That to me is the farthest thing away from being a racist.

this is my problem people have these latent tendencies, whether they realize it's racism or not, there are certain views and morals imbedded by peers, parents, and society since day 1.

If you have a view on an ethnicity and cannot explain it to a person of that ethnicity who is greater in size then you, you are wrong.

Although there might be truth to the statement I would suspect that the 180,000 years of evolution in a plains environment with fast moving prey might, just might, have had a little something to do with their physical ability.

imo, its one thing to make fun of every race in turn in the "chappelian" vane of comedy, its quite another to apply stereotyping labels to a race (i.e. "beaner"). the first has the effect of encouraging racial unity by pointing out how similar we all are (EVERYONE'S similarly different), the second has the effect of creating alienation and disharmony towards a race (THEYRE different.)
