Update: he came in today with all kinds of excuses, whined about us not letting him weld yet (he doesnt know how) and that it was below him to paint strip. This is while I'm stripping the fenders he was suppose to do. Also said he would come back IF, I would pay him more AND if he got to do the "cool stuff" like fabricating panels and painting.
I just lost my faith with the youth of America.
seriously what a fucking cock. i pull weeds or do filing and the worst bitchwork 8 hours a day and i never complain to my boss, even though it wasn't in my job description!
i would kill for the position he had what a fucking bastard.
Why? I just took on another car for Pebble Beach (a 540k). Could use another hand or three, but at this point, I'm just not interested in hiring another. I'll just work myself into a coma instead.
I apologize for conveying a message that I didn't fully explain, And I feel that I have to rephrase myself...
If it were winter, and I had my last semester done, I wouldn't hesitate a day to go out there for this amazing job. A job that would be full of pride. A job that would quickly and easily bring out my attention to detail, and scrutiny for the finished product. Something that I would take extreme pride in finishing, taking a step back and saying "Beautiful". Knowing that the owner of the vehicle would be enamored, joyous, and possibly emotional at seeing their car looking like it's brand new.
Unfortunately, I'm currently attending my final semester. I have started something that I will finish.
To answer your question though. There are no days off until the promise or obligation is kept.
I figured you were, however, even on R3V and in the face of a prospective future job, there is no replacement for professionalism.
That being said. Not all of us are douche bag kids that have entitlement complexes thanks to the "Everyone's a star" "Don't spank your children", and "You tried, here's a trophy" mentality.
That's refreshing to hear, Jake. Minus the flat bill types that trying to look cool, I think R3V would be a great place to find an employee. Zero budget builds outdoors with no experience and the next thing you, a nice car is born with a proud owner.
