Definitely don't spend that shit quickly.. you won't be able to pay your taxes at the end of the year. I would have him set up the maximum taxable "gift", which I think is around $14,000 dollars and the money won't be double taxed if I recall. Then you can get an additional $14k per year tax free.. that's over 1100 per month additional income for nearly 10 years.. tax free.

Look into it, don't let the government take your money and live comfortably.. $2 mil isn't enough to retire on, let alone $100k.

I would rather invest in land than gold.. Land is at an all time low, gold is at an all time high.............

The land/housing market hasn't hit rock bottom yet, if he buys something now he will more then likely lose on it within the first year. My sister bought a place that sold for a ridiculous price in December of last year and already lost $30k to date on it. Gold will continue to appreciate, also gold is a more liquid investment than land or housing.
