Exotic/high end dealership pre employment people

Anyone here know what the process is like? I applied to the Porsche dealership around here as a parts specialist, got an interview and landed it as the manager wanted to hire me right away, but he obviously has to go through the steps to do so. Well, in a nice line of events today, I was laid off from the current dealershit (Kia) where I (used to) work at as a parts specialist. So now I am stuck in a limbo of not having a job and also awaiting on the results of one.

My main concern is how far they go into background checks? I did some bad shit back in '09, but I busted my ass working 2 full time jobs to pay my lawyer and showed good faith and in the end the case was filed nolle prosequi and was never convicted or anything. Half of me tells me to not worry considering the fact that I was hired at Kia with no problems, but the other half is the realist, don't-get-your-hopes-up side considering it's a MUCH more expensive type of vehicle we are dealing with.

Anyone else go through this same madness? lol

try my line of work, my employers have check in with the feds before they can hire me, and if you think that sounds extreme try getting on with a Rail Road.

Dont worry about it you will prolly get in, if you were not convicted then it should not show up

You'll be fine. Hair sample drug test and you're in.

Drug test is no problem. I don't smoke or do anything, so I'm golden on that. I guess my past mistakes that I've learned dearly from are coming to haunt me. Bleh.

If the trouble you speak of involves screwing another car dealer then you might have something to worry about. If not then take it easy and celebrate.

Nolle pros. Never happened. Shouldn't show on a typical employee BI.

I work at a dealership that goes back pretty far on the background check. They would let me hire a guy that had been convicted of 2nd degree murder but someone with a 25+ speeding ticket was a no go. Insurance Co for the dealership wouldn't insure them. DUI, wrecks, tickets, and convictions of anything untrustworthy would be my major concerns. Some auto dealers don't give 2 shits about whats on your record though. Just ask around, someone will know who cares and who doesn't.

                      Whoops. Almost forgot about this.

Yes, I did get the job. Passed everything with flying colors, which was an utter relief considering I am broke. haha. I've been working here for a week now and it's such a better job not to mention it's a lot more laid back than I would have thought.

Well, I don't drive cars very often (I'm in the parts dept). But when I do, they are generally pretty nice. Drove a targa 4S the other day. Not bad, but we have had 2 GT3 RS's already come through the shop. Both owned by the same guy.
