    Lance Armstrong scandal

Lance Armstrong's record setting seventh Tour de France victory, along
with his entire Tour de France legacy, may be tarnished by what could
turn out to be one of the greatest sports scandals of all time...

Armstrong is being quizzed by French police after three banned
substances were found in his South France hotel room while on vacation
after winning the 2005 Tour de France. The three substances found were

toothpaste, deodorant, and soap which have been banned by French
    authorities for over 75 years.

Armstrong's girlfriend and American rocker Sheryl Crowe is quoted as
saying "we use them every day in America, so we naturally thought they'd
    be ok throughout Europe."

Along with these three banned substances, French authorities also
physically searched Armstrong himself and found several other
interesting items that they have never seen before, including a backbone
    and testicles.

Apparently not. Didn't you hear if you have nothing nice to say say nothing when you were 5 three years ago?

I think the anti French posts are less history based than caused by anger that the French are upset an American stole their race. In France's defense, they helped the formation of the Colonial U.S., with arms & troops but that was because their mindset was my favorite team is ______ and anyone beating Britain, they were however well paid.

Since the 19th century France has lost more wars than any other country but at least until WWII they actually fought (the politically led country not the resistance)literally gave it's self away. Thay had time to destroy their fleet in WWII and CHOSE to give it to the Germans which alone cost countless Allied lives. I think most Americans are upset because the French look down on everyone like they are better (The Swiss too what's up with that?) and when they needed help Americans fought and died to help them reclaim their country.

That would be my take on it. I just thought the joke was funny never meant to start a French flame thread, although for the most part I don't appreciate the French attitude. When I was in Europe the people least hospitible were the French.

                              French in France

I rode the Alpine stages in last years TDF. The French were hospitable and the country beautiful. I speak maybe 3 words of French but was able to negotiate throughout the area. I was with a tour group but spent time away walking through the many little towns on the route. I have nothing but good things to say about their meticulously kept country and the way in which I was treated. Granted I was in Paris for the finish but I hear that the city dwellers aren't as nice as the country people. The worst fans were the Germans, as I rode up Alp Du Huez the German fans were holding signs that equated Lance with Doping etc.

All countries have people with poor attitudes, ever been to a football game in the U.S.? How about a soccer match in England? Don't let a few poor attitudes tarnish your view of a country.

Disclaimer: I make fun of everyone but it really is in jest.
