Tachyons!

So supposedly CERN has observed tachyons.

If you are not up on this stuff, tachyons are particles that move faster than the speed of light. Neutrinos (basically neutrons but with much less mass) were clocked at 2% faster than the speed of light with a margin of error of about .3%.

You can time travel, you need to go VERY VERY fast. If you took a rail and wrapped it around earth put a train on it that does close to light speed and sat on it for a week once you departed you would be quit a ways in the future, ride it for a year and you'd be 20 years into the future when you stepped off while only aging 1 year.

My actual numbers may be off but my point still stands.

if you were to stand next to the pyramids, for say 500 years, and somebody was just standing in a field, the person in the field would have actually aged faster than you. The mass of the pyramid is so great that it actually slows time down. VERY little however.

Think about it this way, you are staring at a clock, the clock read 1:00. If you travel backwards, in referance to the clock, at the speed of light, it will stay 1:00 to you, as you are matching the speed of the light being reflected off the clock into your eyes.

Now...Imagine if you traveled faster than light. Essentially you would be able to pass those light particles and watch the clock tick back, but you would be an outsider, and unable to change things.

It's more of a perspective dealio.
