94+ Bronco with a 5.0 and do a mass air swap. Those things haul! the 351w's haul but are pigs.

    97+ tahoe/blazer

4.0-HO Cherokee. So cheap and easy to fix other than the crank sensor. It's sucks trying to change that in the cold and they do go out.

An explorer with the 5.0 is a beast but aren't cheap at all. The most comfortable 4x4 you can find. heated leather, not too big. if you can shell out the cash then that would be best. Cheaper in the long run, cheap to fix, reliable, parts from all over the place, comfort, better mileage than any other thing listed, and doesn't look all that bad.

Why are you looking for a bigger vehicle if it's just going to be a daily? Why not just have a capable vehicle like a Subaru to get you through the rough seasons? Also, if you have something like and Outback or Forester you have plenty of room in the back to carry many things. I'll be in the market for another Subaru soon.

XJ 4.0 5 speed. I had a 90 and ended up trading for my e30. Just got a second XJ, 97 4.0 HO. Much better this time around. Always keep an eye on the temp gauge though. Also all manifolds on the HOs are prone to cracking.

Subaru ftw. My buddy owns a legacy he picked up with 300km on it and it survived 3 northern ontario winters with little to no maintenance, that's DAMN good and I doubt you'll say the same for a land rover worth 2k.

I would be feeling VER special about myself with a deal like that middle one, all good deals though.

I have always loved the XJ. I have built a few. The renix (low output/pre 91) are by far the most reliable out of the group. The have a higher nickel content in the block and tend to last up to 300k and have stronger high pinion diffs.

No to any Explorer. Toyota is good but im partial to jeeps. I think the 22r/22re Toyota 4 cylinder is their most reliable. Subaru will probably yield the best mpg though.

I have a Durango now. Only due to us having 5 kids and it's the smallest of the 7 passenger SUVs

I know we have been over this, but how do you keep finding these things, I have been looking for a long while now and never find anything even that needs a little TLC for less than 4-5k and still have to throw parts at it.

Bought an Xj a month ago. I frickin love this thing. Easy to work on and a lot of fun. Already have a lift kit on order, and wheels and tires too. Cant wait to take it to the snow this year.
