Funny that this topic pops up one day after I cancel the DVD portion of my subscription! I cancelled the DVD portion and kept the streaming portion. I stream to my Xbox 360 that feeds my big screen so it works pretty well. The selection is fine for what I am after currently. I do the RedBox rental for DVD's as I am at the market nearly every day.

It works for now and I may pickup Hulu and drop Netflix if I can find a suitable way to get Hulu to my Xbox 360 so I dont have to recable all my connections to another device that feeds the big screen.

Used to Love Netflix as they were a company that actually listened and acted (price reduction in the past) to its clients - now Im "iffy" about their service as they tend to now be profit mongering.

10 K sitting "stagnant" in a checking account? Really ? That makes you feel good? Checking account interest is negligible at best and even a low rate Money Market account with 10 K invested and left in just the sweep account (the area where the money is not invested in a fund or funds) pays much better than a checking account.
Oh ING Direct typically has a better rate that banks checking account interest rates on their ATM connected accounts. So 10 K can be readilly accessable and still gain a better interest rate.

the DVD service - I'll probably keep. it's nice to have for the workout room (only a DVD player). I don't think the $15 a month is going to break me. I don't have traditional cable TV anyway.

I canceled it all... I liked them both but I am broke all the time too, so every little bit helps. I tried the Hulu Plus thing for a little bit back when I had a Roku... I was pissed when I saw that it had commercials. I am not paying $10 a month or whatever it was to have commercial in my streaming TV episodes. It I want to watch commercials I will just watch the episode on the networks site.

I have a DVR connected up to the TV with comskip, so I don't watch commercials unless I am watching something live!

I'm canceling the streaming for now. I've also reduced my BluRay discs from 4 a month to 2.

I've been using Hulu Plus for TV back seasons and HBOgo for streaming movies. I'm probably going to sign back up for streaming when I get my Asus EePad. Not totally sure yet though, been considering setting up a secure server on my htpc to stream the movies I have ripped on to my hdds. If I decide to go that route then I'll probably not get Netflix streaming again.

I cancelled both recently...got DirecTV plus they have a crappy streaming selection now. Even then, I was pretty bad at utilizing the DVD service. If I do need to watch a movie...I'll pay 4 bucks a pop through Zune on XBL if I need to...I rarely rent so thats good enough.

I canceled my DVD subscription back when they first made the announcement that they were separating the plans (before word of the Qwikster thing).

Most movies I want to see, I see in the theater. I love the theater experience and there is the social aspect as well. I mainly use Netflix for streaming TV shows which they are adding all the time.

I dropped to just the two bluray a month plan. I almost never streamed because there wasnt that much content and it wasnt HD (on a 65" LCD with a sound system in a theater setup).

I use the bluray option to replace theaters because I live in Atlanta and "people" are always yelling at the screen.

They have sweet fuck all for content here in BC. All old crappy movies, and shitty old TV series you eaither never liked or have seen a million times.

Never had the DVD option, so never changed. I stream Hulu Plus, Netflix, and PlayOn through my PS3 for less than $25/month. I'm not complaining.
