I think everyone needs a good ass whopping to straighten them out sometimes. people these days (teenagers for the most part) cry like little bitches when someone talks bad about them on facebook.. or commit suicide because they are eHated on.

grow some nuts, physical abuse is a FANTASTIC way to quickly get someone to learn things and lessons through pain than non physical methods.

Im a prior Parris Island Marine, 3rd bat, we got the shit beat out of us daily.. as an adult, and I learned what i needed and it made me a stronger willed, unafraid, and focused person.

the kids who were not spanked or disciplined as children had no idea what to do or how to handle some of the stuff that happened, they'd break down and cry, attempt suicide, 1 guy actually "hung" himself from his bed when i was in boot camp and succeeded.

so i dont think it should be an everyday occurance, but if you screw up bad enough, you should get your ass beat

if you disagree, thats fine, you can put your kids in timeout when they try to set fire to something because they play with matches.

I can see the points made. When I went through boot(Navy) there were 8 that run away, Don't know even to this day what they do with them. I do know you put your name on the line they own you for that time, just do it.

A lot of these post bring back a long list of childhood memories. I mostly got spanking with a belt. Until I was like 14 or 15 do not remember which, I had done something my Dad reared back and hit me, I caught his arm looked into his eyes and that was it. Which may have been the cause for me going to boarding schools after that.

Spankings and ear pulls. I deserved them all, and I'm glad I got them. My patens stopped the physical punishment for all three of us kids around the same time, and I'm the oldest, and I'm pretty damn sure I'm way more well behaved then my siblings. Pure speculation though.

my father left when i was a little kid and my mother never hit me. once, she took away my computer. that hurt. no beatings, but i still successfully went through OCS USMC. (bring on the hate mercury. lol. and yes, i would NEVER go through Parris Island. i've heard way too many stories from our Sergeant Instructors. congrats on surviving that shit though.)

that said, man... there were a few times in my life when all i really needed was to be smacked upside the head. really. i dont think girls/women understand this or need this. whatever. but i really believe that with guys, a little physical violence is a great thing. i think a smack or two every once in a while would have really kept me in line. i was a real handful when i was a teen.

mainly spankings and "time out". but when i was stupid and shot out the street light with my BB gun, i lost it, never to be found again still to this day. but a lot was also just the "fear of god", like the one and only time ive told my mom to shut up and walked off my dad chased me up stairs to my room were i slammed the door. i just remember the sound of him running and kicking the door off the hinges. lol i wonder what the look on my face was like.

looking back now im grateful for how my parents disciplined me, to this day i love them a LOT but my dad and i have always been closer compared to my mom and i. she was always the one to lecture you, again still to this day.
