"Concord Police Identify Suspects Who Hit & Killed an Innocent Woman During Pursuit"

The Concord Police have identified the men involved in Tuesday’s police pursuit & collision, which killed an innocent woman near Grant Street & highway-242.

The driver of the suspect vehicle was identified as Mauro Gutierrez, Date of Birth: June 11, 1986, Concord Resident. The passenger was identified as Joshua Simmons, Date of Birth: December 26, 1986, Concord Resident.

The Concord Police were originally trying to pull the driver over because he was talking on his cell phone, but he failed to yield, and ending up crashing into the innocent victim after a short police pursuit. Both suspects immediately fled on foot after the crash, but were arrested a short distance away.

As of 11am, the victim’s name hasn’t been released. The Contra Costa County Coroner says they’re still trying to get in contact with her family.

Damn, and its a woman............. I hope these assholes get shank in jail.

Ryan. I think you have not got my understanding between arrest and pursuit. First of all. I have a uncle who retired after 26 years as a police officer, his son is a police officer for 12 years as we speak. His cousin on his mothers side is a sheriff of 10 years.We are all first cousins. 2 of my best, best friends are cops thru them. I had aspiration on being a cop or fire fighter after my military service.

So before you hit the gas assuming that I'm a hater, know the facts. The police are the one's who state the pursuit was started after seeing the perp on a cell phone. Not me. And no matter what came back after a tag search, the person behind the wheel may not be the person who owned the car. I believe in pursuit and arrest. It is the method of pursuit that I speak of. My concern is that there are alternatives. And if you notice I did mention loss of life, including law enforcement.

And real talk. This more about the tragic loss of life then your opinion or mine.
