+1. Incredibly sad situation. Ps don't think anyone's hating on the cops either, but I do think chases go on far too long and recklessly

Whenever I see a car in this shape at a parts yard I can't help but wonder if its fate was like this, where the driver died in it and it just sat in a parts yard waiting to be crushed as I came along. Its surreal so I never take parts from cars like that.

I think it is terribly sad whenever someone following the rules is killed because someone else is being stupid.

    Around here they arreee!

Anywho, sucks, sucks, sucks. I don't get why people run from the cops like this. They're gonna get you, you're just making it worse, and putting everyone else at risk. Very selfish thing to do.

    RIP driver. RIP clean e30.

    really sad....

I do wonder why there is so much trash in both cars though?

Had this same thought awhile back while in a pick and pull. Saw a completely mangled volvo something, similar damage to the E30 in the article and some scrapper looking guys just pulling parts off it. I know that's what it's there for but the thought of someone dying in their car and then stripping it for parts made me uneasy.

RIP to the driver. Hope the driver of the pickup gets what's coming to him.

RIP. Hope it wasn't a student, that would make it so much worse.

Whenever a thread involving police is started, you can basically bet your life there will be at least two people that have nothing more to add than "Fuck the police."

I wonder if they know how stupid that really makes them look? Last I checked, it was in the police officer's job description to pursue and detain criminals? Now, its pretty safe to assume that if a driver tries to escape police, there's a damn good chance they're hiding something from the law that would put them behind bars (that means its illegal, kids), and that person probably deserves to be in jail. So when a police officer pursues this person, they typically have a set speed in regards to the scenario (city vs country) in which they stop pursuing. I"m guessing these vehicles were not doing 100mph, damage like that could be something as slow as a 40mph vs 40mph impact; ie not very fast.

So to all the idiots that have nothing to contribute, think before you post "Fuck the Police". K? Thanks.

    * and on the flip side; if the driver had gotten away, pulled out his gun and shot 4 kids at a bus stop, the same naysayers would be screaming, "Why didn't the police officers STOP them?????"

What sucks is that the death sentence costs more in the end than paying for someone to rot in prison for life.

That thing never had a chance against getting T-Boned at high speed by that F150. Whatever trouble the driver of that truck was in before the cops came after him, he has only made it worse now. What a shame that the innocent person had to lose their life and the driver got away. Too many times that how it goes though. RIP fellow E30-er...
