ummm no the TSA is a govt jobs program, and they are trying to get authority over lots of other stuff..... Not to mention they wanted to screen and clear passengers for flights over the US that dont land here, like Canadian flights to where ever....

I found it funny that customs in Germany (at least in Munich) is voluntary. I always bring hundreds of dollars in gifts haha.
I thought about that, but I'm talking about flying BACK to the US, so I would think it would be the same?

Thankfully it wasn't too big of a hassle. DFW has their stuff together.

I'm still here. Just left Vegas, I had egg burritos with sausage, onions, hot sauce, and coffee for breakfast there....let the airplane farts begin. I'm sitting between 2 of the weirdest people I've ever seen and they don't smell great so I definitely have no sympathy.

Yeah I flew through DFW twice in the past few weeks. I was pleased with it.

Maybe there aren't the same customs standards for re-entering the country after being in the Bahamas. Do you have to go through the same deal when flying back from Canada?

Not sure, I've never visited America's hat. But I think we are planning on checking out Vancouver next year.

Hate when that happens myself. First course of action... look around for any vacant seat.

I remember when I was a kid going to Hawaii before the plane took off the pilot said I could go into the cockpit and look at everything. I was probably 5 at the time and I asked him if he could do a barrel roll while we were flying... I liked the N64 starfox :P

Somewhat off topic, but my county veteran representative is a former Air Marshall. He said he did it for about 3 years before he got burned out.

Basically, these guys are undercover government flight cops. They are armed, and trained on how to spot suspicious activity. He mentioned to me that if you make a commotion, even a small one with any of the flight staff, your seat number is taken down and you are basically put into a national database as a "problem passenger."

He said on a flight, Air Marshalls are judge, jury and executioner. They have all authority to end any confrontation, and carry loaded weapons for use at any time. They can and will put down any "threat" no questions asked.

Damn, I was a part of a very drunk and somewhat rowdy row on my flight from Denver to Ft. Laudredale last tues...Maybe I'm in the database now.
