Finally saw the PM to update.
I actually sold my series 2 Spider in spring and replaced it with a 98 m roadster. Hoping to replace the m roadster in spring with an m coupe, my dog is getting mad he can't travel with me anymore.
Also picked up a new 240z, selling my old one.Originally posted by bluntcan you get me a deal on cases of their (fiji) bottled water? i wash my 02 in that shit

At the last minute, it appears Alfa won't offer the manual transmission in the 500hp Giulia sedan (in the US). It seems Americans aren't buying enough manuals, the paddle shift auto is more reliable, smoother, faster, blah blah...
R&T says:
"...it's a strange turn of events—the Giulia show car that graced Alfa Romeo's booth at every major U.S. auto show featured a six-speed manual, and Alfa Romeo set its first Giulia Nurburgring lap record using a manual-transmission model.
When that record was felled by the new Porsche Panamera, however, Alfa Romeo brought a Giulia Quadrifoglio Verde with the optional-in-Europe eight-speed automatic to the track, regaining the current world record for fastest four-door sedan at the famed track. The automatic transmission shaved seven seconds off the stick-shift lap record, which now stands at 7:32."Last edited by LateFan; 10-28-2016, 04:50 PM.

Are these the Sprints from the auction in New Jersey?
This one isn't totally gone, but it will take some $$$$$ to bring it back.
This one however....
Interesting, its got the small tail lights, so its a 750, but those gauges are out of a 101 1600 Sprint.
And that is a 1600 engine.
This car is a very expensive parts car at $9000. There is nothing left to save, and I'm shocked they managed to move it without ripping the undercarriage off the car.
The first car has some hope, that second one is flat out done. Poor cars.

i didn't compare the photos i took, but yes. i would say they are exactly the same.
i thought the d-bag from connecticut bought these cars? i was told these cheeseballs bought all the 164's and spiders no one wanted.
i would shit myself if that second one sold for 9k. lol they spray bombed silver on the wheels and did such a sloppy job there is over spray on the tires!! thats some serious restoration work they did there.
why would you even consider this if you could buy the mostly complete and much less rusty veloce for 50% more?
i assume a bunch of this crap is going to start showing up at any moment.Last edited by flyboyx; 11-03-2016, 09:25 PM.sigpic

In non rusty Sprint news, mine is off to paint tomorrow. Might be painted by the end of the month. I had a look at my aluminum, stainless and chrome trim this evening. I have a feeling I'm going to be polishing aluminum and stainless for a few weeks here.

So, the Sprint went to the paint guy today. He's thinking 100 hrs of labor (Yikes, looks like that will do it for my budget for this year on the car.) The chosen color is.....
Aegean Blue. It has a very fine metallic flake to it, and is period correct. Yes its an Aston Martin color. The painter had a little left from an Aston Martin he did a few years back. I think the car should look amazing. Not quite correct, but Bertone was a custom coach builder and would paint any color you wanted.
Its close to Alfa Tornado blue, but the fine metal flake just makes it pop a little more than straight solid blue.

nice color!!!! i glad you didn't choose red(kinda happy you didn't go with black too)
those aston's db's are worth tons of money nowadays. 300k+. god bless james bond. back when i was in high school, there was a local guy that had 3 or 4 of those things. they were worth about a tenth of that in those days.sigpic
