Narrow grills look good on E30 because E30's are narrow. wide grills look good on E32's and E34's because they are wider.

narrow grills on E32, E34 are out of proportion to the width of the car, and in my eyes look too small.

I think he would need to compensate a little more on his end, or you need to find a 540i/6.

My car is s50d on weaves(was on SSR comp c's). I told him $4.5k on top of his car, most he will go is $2k. It's not gonna happen

as for the narrow vs wide grill argument.... to each their own. I prefer wide grills

Anyone have comparison pics, I haven't ever noticed the difference in the grills, probably why I like some a lot more than others.

V8 came with wide kidneys, 6 came with narrow kidneys.

I like both narrow and wide equally...but a cabin air filter would be lovely.

I want a factory black 3.0 V8 manual car. I want to add 2 tiny turbos just behind the differential. I bet with good tuning I could get 300+ HP, and still get decent fuel economy (28ish? maybe?) on a road trip.

I have to say, I am definitely a narrow kidney fan. The large ones remind me of an E30 with E36 kidneys smashed in its nose.

This is not entirely true. 1995 525's came with wide grilles, as well as 95 m5's.

Damn, the narrow kidneys look so much better IMO, looks like a bimmer and not some plasticed out pile.

As with most things there's an exception to every rule ;)

(Actually I wasn't aware of this, I'll be filling it away with the rest of my trivial BMW knowledge now...)

My very early M20 Auto: 3rd slowest US BMW ever. Well, non-diesel, US model cars...no matter what, damn slow. But, on the positive side, the heated mirrors still work. Remote start is a breeze, locks and windows all work great...but this miserable pile of shit has had more than goddamn hours of work just to get it on the road, then another zillion hours on the brakes, suspension, subframe and trailing arm bushings, all the damn doglegs...but it drives well, for now. 5 speed nad possibly a hairdryer might be in its future, since the car itself is OK but worth nothing...plus, nearly old enough to be smog exempt. Oh well, what do you want from a free BMW?

Joe, 5 speed M30 E34 is total fucking win. I would personally never own a V8 BMW but that's just me.

                                I loved my 535, unfortunately I sold it to fund a V8 Volvo that I thought I wanted. I miss the E34.
