I got a few of those sleep paralysis things when I was a kid....just reading these posts made me break out in a cold sweat. Scary shit.Comment

I have horrible anxiety, and severe insomnia because of it. My mind constantly races about how I can improve my life, being productive, and focusing on education. But I live in California. Smoking a blunt puts things into perspective and makes me appreciate the great life I live. We should all be appreciative for what we have, and be realistic in goals. It's all about staying calm and putting things into perspective, we have it good.Comment

Lets make brownies. Would I still be racist ;)
With what I meant with the sleep paralysis is that there have been some houses where it would happen more often and with greater sense of impending death. I'm not going to make this into a ghost story thread but I remember sleeping in one house where repetitively I would open my eyes with the sensation of being watched by an unfriendly 'something'. The dog, sleeping in the same room, would always be intensively growling at the mirror every time this would happen.Comment

hahaha.
The only time i think ive had a panic attack was when i was diving (commercial) off the coast of galveston at 60fsw and water slowly started to seep into my helmet and i couldnt stop it. I got tunnel vision and couldnt focus. My instinctive response was to claw my way up my umbellical to the surface, but i stopped took a couple of breaths and i reasured myself i would be ok (had i clawed my way to the surface, i would of gotten bent for sure). i made it out ok but my body was invulnerably shaking from the adrenaline, it also didnt help that the visibility was less than 1ft down there lol. so when you guys talk about beng helpless and unable to breath i feel ya'.
keepin it real since 1990Comment

That's gotta suck, I'm pretty lucky to be free of any of this. My cousin used to have night terrors when she was younger and described it exactly the way it was said on the first page. Church told her it was demons watching her sleep, bet that helped a lot.Comment

Absolutely. Shit, I had a really bad one a few years back, I was riding in a car and I was in the throws of panic, and I decided I was gonna get myself before they got me. Yeah, that ended with me in the psych ward.

man, I still cannot believe that what I experienced was a panic attack, or better yet, that stress and stressing and worrying about something could drive your body to act that way. Face going numb and therefore slightly affecting speech, pains down my arms, legs tingling, feeling shaky AND THEN with all that, coming to some false, but justified feeling that you are having a heart attack or stroke and could literally be experiencing the last moments of your life which then only drives fear and panic THROUGH THE FUCKING ROOF OF THE UNIVERSE!!!! That was the worst and most scariest experience of my life.
I could almost feel it coming though. I had been really stressed, worried, down, anxious, and dwelling on some things. All while recuperating from partying a few days straight (no drugs or anything).
I guess one is asking for it at that point.Comment

Damn man so you're on a bad pcp trip whenever
one of your episodes begin?
My old neighbor used to have them I would tell
the son "I think your dad might being doing meth", but he told me he
just acts that way sometimes.
Ultra paranoid, jumbling his words, totally awkward. lol
For no reason what so ever. Like an animal scared of people.Comment
