Well you would turbo it obviously.
And yes I did say KA24, thought you guys would know which one I meant.
Anyways KA24 can e placed very far back in the engine bay, which means better weight distribution.
The oil pan does not hang as low, which means driving the car slammed would be way easier. The engine can be placed lower to the ground too for this reason, which means lower center of mass.

With both four cylinders you can place them both further back and have less weight over front of the car.

The k series bolts to the s2000 tranny and you have a rwd, it's that easy, just because it came in a fwd dosent mean it's not a good motor.
K24 with k20 head are cookie cutter 300whp+ NA motors.
For NA horsepower to engine displacement Honda has been at the top for a while with the intro of the f20c taking over reins from the mighty s14, not even apples to apples when you compare motors; the s14 is way more performance outfitted.
I've thought about and am still thinking about this swap into my own e30 due to the responsiveness of the motor, I turbocharge BMW'S for a living but I am an NA guy at heart so response is big for me. My Honda that sits in the garage next to my vert will peg the 10,100 limiter BEFORE the pedal touches the floor, typical of a tuned Honda.
Oh yeah, the F20c and predecessor F22 will both make 600+whp all day on a 100% factory motor with the correctly sized turbocharger, once again pretty cookie cutter for the S2000.
I haven't pulled the trigger on this swap yet because honestly;
F20/F22 w/ trans = ~4k
S54 w/ trans = ~ 4k ( and yes I have bought them At this price)
S54 is the better for the price, I just sacrifice a bit of low throttle response due to the individual throttles - easy fix

I like to think out loud... my DD has a pretty mile-y engine in it, and I might want to do something in the summer? Probably not though.

But yeah, 100 kg is a sizeable difference.

the f20 motor is direct bolt up 2 the k series? i came into the car scene throu honda. the s2k is one of my favorite cars... period! the k20 is such a badass motor the only thing that stopped me from a k20 hatch was FWD. also as stated f20 will handle boost fine. theres a couple guys around here (souths FLA) with 500whp+ boost s2k's with stock blocks and shit

Lightly modded S14s put out around 170-175 whp.
I tried this engine swap before. I got a bum engine, though. I'd consider it again if someone were selling a low-miles rebuilt engine, but even then, it's pretty pricey.
Honestly I think I'd do a turbo M10 rather than an S14.
And thanks, Emre, for all of the details you provided. Very useful!
