Rock River Arms, Inc. offers a complete line of American made, custom built AR15 style rifles.

My dad bought this one for himself for Christmas. I've shot about 1000rds through it personally and absolutely love it. He got his with the EOtech rear mechanical sight (included in price) and mount and an EOtech holographic red-dot sight (500 extra) which is nice because you can use the mechanical sight through the red-dot optical. Allows you to shoot a full mag in an area the size of a silver dollar from 75yds away. Fucking love that gun.

My buddy actually just bought a palmetto at the g&n here in Indy last weekend for 650. Looks like a nice gun but our circle of friends try to not buy the same guns. More variations to shoot at the range. I didn't buy anything bc nothing was priced reasonably. For instance, a used Sig 551 was asking 1700. Yea fucking right.

I think I'm leaning towards a Colt AR flat top. It's in my price range, plenty of upgrade room, and quality made.

If I were to build another AR I would hit up the equipment exchange on AR15.com and the m4carbine.net. There are some great deals on new and slightly used shit. That's where I found the group buy for my Daniel Defense upper, which was a total steal. Knowing what I know now, it would be so much easier to build one cheaper with quality parts.

Stay away from gun shows. They prey on that desire to have it NOW!

I plan on buying 2 rifles and 1 shot gun for my collection..
                Colt - 223
                Springfield M1A - 308
                Benelli semi auto - 12ga
I think buying something quality and that you'll want to keep is key to not wasting $$!

Oh don't worry, I was going to go to the show just to buy a lower. Then go from there if I find anything.

^^I wish you guys would stop marking everything 5.56 dammit, your government does not like to export the millitary cal.'s to us.

makes it hard to get fun stuff up here... just a nice little .223 marking is all it would take ;)

Other way around.... the 5.56 is loaded to Military pressures, a lot hotter than the standard hunting 223 round.
