My Panerai "homage" showed up today from Hong Kong. It's a nice watch, but honestly I think the fossil I have a few posts up is built better. I'll grab a better picture soon, my nikon has a dead battery and I can't find the dumb charger block.

I love watches, but I really have grown to love Antique clocks. My dad has around 300 19th century clocks that are really works of art.

He also has a few beautiful watches that I've been trying to get my hands on for years. One is an early 70s Movado automatic, it runs flawlessly, but my dad is OCD and has been trying to get the second hand to hit directly on the hash marks for years. haha If that ever happens then the watch is mine!

So what citizen or seiko do you guys recommend under $200?

Something that is clean/nice and not too dressy, but still good mix for both work and dress events....

        Citizen eco-drive watches?
        Seiko ?

Is quarts ok or better to go with automatic/eco-drive?

I want a Fortis, but they are $$$

Check eBay for vintage Seikos. You can find some nice ones with automatic movements.

I liked my Eco-Drive, wore it for years. Then left it in a car I traded in on my 350Z a couple of years ago.

Picked up another cheap project watch. From the description it sounds like a broken mainspring. The band is also horrible.

this Seiko (Which is also my Chocolate lab's name) is the same watch I have from my late Father, minus the see through back, mine is SS.
itI needs to be repaired as the face seems to have rotated inside the case a bit, I was working with some equipment and it was caused by vibration.

still, one of my most prized posessions though, sad to see it is only worth $55 bucks to everyone else though.

as a related note, it has to be 30 years old.

Keep saving and get something better, there are a bunch of great options on ebay. Just do your research and get something swiss with some good history and you'll be fine. My girlfriend has a Rolex DateJust which I think is a great watch for girls but it's about 100x your price range so maybe not quite yet... ;)

                              Nice!

It may have been mentioned, are the Sturhling's any good? I dig some of their designs and they aren't too pricey? I've pulled back on a big budget for this since I'm trying to finish the Miata.

Just bought this guy off of the bay....it will get a black leather band as soon as I get it. I have too many with brown bands.
