I'm in the same boat as you but if my dad were to say hey let me cover some of the cost of something that I'm involved in and he has no part in I am more than willing to accept. For one of many reasons such as;
- Shows me I have support (motivational more so than monetary)
- I probably wouldn't be able to flourish in a hobby that costs a lot to maintain alone.
- I wouldn't mind having some bonding time.
Mind you if its something major like funding an entire engine swap then I would refuse and tell him its okay Ill work for it myself. But covering a partial entrance fee or providing the food during events totally fine by me.Leave a comment:

Exactly. I believe the saying is "To each his own" Just because you live one way, does not mean that every other way is wrong or of less value.Leave a comment:

I just pictured a father supporting his meth addict son. Many lol's were had.Leave a comment:

Good. But that doesn't justify bashing someone that obviously has a father/son hobby thing going on.
Dad's probably glad his son's not some meth junkie so he's happy to provide some support.Leave a comment:

Not that it matters, but he still drove it occasionally. And he has it for a full year the first year I'm at college. Its his car technically, so if he wants to pay for it, thats fine by me. I have to pay him back by the end of college anyway.I'm not gonna have an E-fight with you on a forum and then escalate it to a more personal E-fight with you on facebook lol if it was like that I'd rather just see you in person. I don't care enough for the cause to do either. you're not the first person who has daddy pay for his car shit so it's just beating a dead horse
Certainly. But I wouldn't want my parents to pay for my car expenses if they have no part in it. For example if my dad bought my e30 for me to drive, with the intention of himself DDing it or anything, that would be a different story. But I'd never let my dad pay for a track event that he would have no seat time in.
To each his own. I had to grow up faster then many 18 year olds so this monetary issue with my parents makes more sense to me.Leave a comment:

Please explain to me where you were taught your logic.
If you want to have a pissing match feel free to message me on Facebook. You seem to have nothing better to do than start fights on R3v, so I'm sure you have enough time.

It's pretty cool when parents show support like this. His dad has the means to help out along with the will to, are you saying that you wouldn't build a race car with your dad if you had the opportunity?
Don't be such a dick

I can't wait for life to slap you across the face when you hit the real world.U mad bro? I don't understand what the problem is. I love paying for things myself(hence, this swap) but wouldn't you accept help if it was offered? I don't deserve it, but he volunteers to help me pay for things and helps out at events, if you have a problem with that then sorry.
Cheers!Leave a comment:
