^That's some crazy stuff, happened so quick. What caused the car to kick out like that, or did it just spin on him?

My father in law wrecked my racecar on a hill climb. Plan for the worst. The car basically bent in half where the roll bar ended. I am the one on the radio.

"No, but you see, I have a full roll cage in my car, so if I was to crash it without wearing this helmet, it would basically kill me".

I have had both a roll bar and a roll cage in two different cars. I prefer the weld in , in either roll bar or roll cage. It gave me piece of mind and felt a lot more substantial then a bolt in. Don't get a harness bar ever. Don't get a four point belts. If you do a weld in consider wether or not you will ever want a full cage, sometimes its more expensive/harder to add the front half of a cage when the back half is already there. Also anything involved in the back half of the car will become exponentially more pain in the assey with a roll bar/cage. Whomever you have do it see their work prior to having it done, not pics but in person. Head room is crucial, you have to fit in the car with a helmet, and its annoying when your head bumps the cage in a helmet.

offtopic- did you ever get that engine in your car funganf?

Also, I would think with a proper seat and harness you would not have to worry about hitting your head on a bar that if done right should be behind your seat.

It will still hurt either way. If you hit a solid metal bar with no helmet on and only an inch or two of padding, it will do damage. Thats why you want the bars tucked as far up as possible.

yeah. but it's not common for people to smack their heads on the b pillar.

but a cage will run behind a seat. usually has a cross beam that is a good potential head injury point.

and let's take a 40lb pole, cover it padding, and let met smack you upside the head with it. it's going to hurt. put 3000lbs behind it... it's going to hurt more.

Of course, only the most quality of upgrades. I was actually thinking about putting an e36 engine in my car too. Anybody tried this? How does it fit?
