Consider what could be the cost of a crash at that speed on the street. Better to spend some $$ on a track day, then risk it all on the street. But I'm just a stupid 17 y.o. so don't listen to me.Comment

If one of your friends is bagging on you for having a faster car, let him. He is the child. It takes all of 3 seconds for anyone who knows cars to realize what is a fast car and what is not.
Owning a 1986 (now a classic!) car is not all about speed. It is about having a sense of agency that is represented through such things like your continous restoration. Being comfortable with that is a great feeling. Your car is still cool and your girlfriend still likes you - plus you probably pay less insurance than your friends.Comment

More advice: Get killer suspension/ tire/ sway bar set-up and kick some ass in the corners.Comment

^^ yeah I mean he's not like that all the time its just he's like that whenever we jump in the subject of our cars. I'll ignore it whenever he says he can keep up with me like he's getting behind once im WOT but the point is like yeah he sounds like a child when he talks about his ride being good this and that its cool shows pride but too much at times and it gets me irritated to the point I wanna rig my ride up even more but after reading what you said makes me feel a lot better tbh and I appreciate it bro, I'll continue my project and cruise her around knowing I got a car no one has in town, and yeah my girl will kill me if I keep this stupid haha cuz she loves me but thanks broIf one of your friends is bagging on you for having a faster car, let him. If you lack self control and are addicted to speeding and unsafe driving then make a game out of trying to get the best gas mileage possible out of a tank.
Speed gets you into all kinds of trouble. A quick accelerating, sharp handling, and overall pleasing interface between man and machine is what I seek as a car enthusiast. The sound of a BMW 6 in a small RWD package with the right personal touches is what hits that sweet spot.I live in the real world and realize that even if you own a 1200hp Supra drag car that cost you 50k, there is still someone out there with a faster car. Find what it is that you want, get it, and enjoy it!Comment

You bought the wrong car and for the wrong reason.
I'll also be a candidate to buy it off of you if you'd like.Comment
