ouch man that looks painful. my dick is hurting just looking at it.

however, it is definitely not as bad as it could have been. you still have your nail and your finger. hope you get better soon bud.

this thread makes me feel better about the titanium rod and 30 sumthin stitches they had to put in my finger a few years ago after it got put into a BMW electric fan.
        wishing you a speedy recovery.

Yea, suck off the old blood and keep eating. Hope you initially squeezed out all the blood you could. Try and keep greese, gas, brake fluid, and oil out of it-sucks to scrub a cut.

Yeah washed the cut out with warm water and let it bleed in the sink for a bit. Just trying to get it to scab over today.

              nice job wrapping it..

you did the right thing washing it out, tap water works just as well as sterile saline/water to prevent infection, the most important thing is water pressure so it reaches back into the recesses of the wound.

doesn't look too bad though, not stitch-worthy. Watch that middle piece with cuts around it to make sure it has blood flow; it looks like it should heal but if the tissue dies you should get it checked out.

in the ER we would do basically exactly what you did: irrigate w/ water, rinse a little with hibaclens (gentle antiseptic), check for sensation (can you feel the tip of your finger?) check for movement (can you move the distal joint?), wrap it w/ sufficient pressure to keep the wound closed but not tight enough to cut off circulation, give you a tetanus shot and discharge home. if you've had a tetanus booster within 5 years you're good..

At least you didn't chop the tip off...

I know someone who put their hand in a real blender and lost the tip of their finger... genius person...

My mom is a nurse/midwife and has sowed my brother and I up so many times. I always call her and ask what I should do. I added a little finger splint to the finger to keep it from flexing to much and opening back up again. I'm going to have her check it out and re wrap it for me today.
