If you get something boring and reliable you'll never have to worry about modding it. I bought an e34 as a dd and now I spend more money on that than I do on the e30. Having a shitty econobox as a daily is perfect. Plus you can beat the hell out of it, and if you ever don't want it there's always someone that will buy it.

this^ I have a crappy 2000 eclipse and hes right.....the sun roof or the doors leak into the carpets and its damp when it rains, the pain is peeling, the speakers are blown and I bought it for 2000, runs fine.

no money will be spent on modding it, only up keep=oil, brakes, and maybe some rubber for the sun roof or door what ever the leak is from.

might flush the tranny though since its a bit noisy.

get something cheap that you can rely on for a bit....even an eta would suffice just dont get the bug to mod it.

"cheap and reliable" is hard to define....if its cheap enough to justify maybe two years of use then I consider that reliable.

I sold my Comanche and have hated myself since. Save yourself the frustration and just pay for the small mileage increase.

Honda Accord V6's are relatively fun to drive and are obviously bulletproof.

Are you high? Almost all v6 models from 98' to 03' had transmission failures. Well documented and if not taken care of under the extended warranty are extremely expensive to replace. Bulletproof? No way.
