Car gets stolen from impound yard, owner notified when able to pick up car
Police tell owner that its tough shit and he should use his insurance
Owner goes to court and is cleared of all wrong doing but still has to pay $100 fine.


WTF, this country has come to the point where innocent people can have their cars taken and their rights waived, he wouldnt get compensation for damage to car in yard (or the fact it got stolen then dumped), he wouldnt get compensation for money lost (if he used a vehicle to work) or public transport costs,stress e.t.c.

Police focus on real crimes like cars they think are too loud, ignore issues like vehicle theft.

so yeah how is USA for dickheads like us? do cops give a shit if you are fucking about in the middle of nowhere? you get pulled over for doing 64km/h in a 60 here (like 37mph in a 35) here

I quoted that last part in bold, because unfortunately there are always a rotten few who ruin it for the rest of us. What makes our situation so bad is the way the media has taken a hold of those rotten few and really worked up a storm so big that the politicians can't help but ignore it.

Also, regarding the case in the OP, it went to court yesterday. He got off the hoon charge, fine was reversed, points returned, no conviction recorded.

Still to go to court regarding the theft of the vehicle, but apparently he's lawyered up for that.

I generally hoon about outside of the city limits. There's generally 2-3 officers (2 county, one state) in the largest county in Va.

Cops are my towns worst offenders. Them and Harley riders. I like cars and such but if your gonna act like a jackass do it in your own neighborhood.

Wouldn't really call that hooning, just someone who shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car. But that in itself is part of the problem - here, hooning is considered more of a risk than drink driving or not paying attention. Driver education is extremely poor and the police aren't able to enforce the laws that should be enforced, instead being sent on head hunts by politicians who need to appear as if they're doing something important.

yeah in smaller towns you can get away with a lot more. One of my friends was on COPS, or whatever that fucking 90's tv show was, for going 120 in a 60. The next day he was fishing with the Sheriff. Got slapped on the wrist, no biggie.
