Australia treats car enthusiasts like murderers and rapists.
Actually, cops don't even care about murderers and rapists because there is no money for the state to be made from catching them. They really only do their job if it involves issuing fines.M20B23 Euro 323i - The Legend Of Ron BurgundrotComment

When law enforcement becomes a for-profit enterprise, all pretenses of justice go out the window. That's exactly what it's become in much of the civilized world. Traffic tickets here routinely run into the 4 figures, but get your car / motorcycle stolen and they won't even bother sending out an officer. No profit.sigpic

My post from the E34 drifting in the Bay area thread.
Those links are videos of news stories in Australia.http://aca.ninemsn.com.au/article/84...s-become-thugs
Breaking news and stories that really matter to Australians. From cost of living and politics, to weather and the environment - get all the latest updates.
All I could find with some quick searches but it's usually worse than that. They'll use footage of people in Japan drifting on quiet mountain roads and claim it's Australian roads in peak hour traffic etc.
Someone doing burnouts, or drifting on a street in the middle of no where is far less dangerous than the huge number of BAD drivers on our roads that never get any media attention. On a daily basis I get cut off, people failing to give way, douches driving 30-40km/h under the speed limit in the right lane(left lane is for slow fucks), people pulling into my lane with a completely unsafe gap and proceeding to drive well under the speed limit, douche bags tailgating the shit out of me when I'm doing the speed limit etc. Somehow the "hoons" are the bad drivers.M20B23 Euro 323i - The Legend Of Ron BurgundrotComment

Trollenboro is slang for Waynesboro. It trolls the shit out of you. Fucking aweful place.
There's probably room. The guy who owned our house before us would fly a plane and take off/land on our road, but now there's power lines in the way.1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment

I would have a very hard time restricting myself from punching those shitheads called cops in that video right in the face 'cause that's some pathetic shit, my fav part might be were they bitched about the filter sticking out of the hood ... so if he runs someone over that is really dangerous .... okლ(ಠ益ಠლ)Be Afraid Of The FutureComment

These actions by police aren't descisions made out of the blue. "our race track closed, where else can we race" isn't a means to exibit high, lethal speeds on public roads. Say what you will about how they are "picking" on these drivers, but tell me you'd feel comfortable walking the streets in your neighborhood with droves of retards acting this way. Not me. It's up to the better, more grounded people in this car enthusiast group to step up and change minds.
Do you guys really think that public skateparks have been around since the dawn of time? Anyone over 25 knows what I mean when I say "where are we supposed to go?" was a common phrase for skateboarders for decades. The police and city government declined to help until we all decided to grow up and start attending city meetings. See, when you stop acting like an asshole, and settle down, then approach lawmakers on a legal level with good ideas and places to build these good ideas, things happen. You want a track? go get sponsorship from Red-bull, and a racecar driver who hails or lives in the area. Go find a land trust, and put a plan together. You want a ticket? Let things continue on until you can't afford to drive your car anymore. Schedule autocross events in abandonded parking lots with the Police department, shit half their lots are empty, have them there where they can watch as well. Be the one with a higher thought process here, and change things. Bad apples are bad apples. They don't change.Last edited by delatlanta1281; 03-21-2012, 11:48 AM.Yours truly,

when we have events police wait at entrances and common points on the way to the event and inspect/defect any cars with wheels. they were actually pulling cars off cartrailers to inspect them. so noone really botheres anymore.
There are some small events that i want to get into, but its often 3-4 hour drive.
autocross idea is interesting but probably wouldnt go down, i dont know of any abandoned parking lots near me and again whats the point of going to it if your car will become unregistered when entering/exiting.
there have been rally groups and people petitioning for it but the police stance on a legal track is that it will make things worse so i really cant see that happening in the future.RIP 84 323i coupe 5spd w/ 14psi

a friend of mine had just bought an e34 and was really psyched about it. he was driving home from the MVA and a police car pulls him over.
the officer says the car is not registered. said friend said he was just on the way back from the MVA and pulls out all the receipts to show. officer says they are obviously all forged because the license plate is not in the system.
6 cruisers pull up. they search the car over. which, being just bought, was spotless of anything. they decide they still dont believe him and impound the car.
they hold the car for a week. then they release it to him. no explanation. no apology. $250 to get the car out of impound. nothing he can do. if he wanted to fight it, it'd cost him a lot more than that.AWD > RWDComment
