A buddy of mine, 8 year US Army vet, smoker, DI at Fort Jackson: Gets a new CO who runs. CO anounces at muster that anyone who finishes the PT run ahead of him gets the day off. Bish is still smoking when the race starts, field strips the butt and sticks it in his pocket as he falls in behind the new CO, starts pacing him and wondering out loud where he will go on his day off. The beach, the pool, so many possibilities, can't wait to leave, etc. Passes the new CO in a sprint to the finish. This went on for almost a week. Bish gets promoted, new hat, different group, problem solved. He was a rare talent and I can't argue he wouldn't have been better without the cigs.

I don't smoke. Used to socially but now that bars around here ban smoking, that doesn't happen either.

I cant stand cigs/weed or anything related to that shit. Its annoying when kids smoke weed and they post it on facebook ect and how they think theyre cool cause they smoke.

          ^This.

Watch a patient who smokes complete a cardiac stress test on a treadmill, then watch a patient who doesn't smoke complete the same test. There is no question of which patient really has "no problems".

I usually just have a swisher every great once in a while at a party that's about it.

I attend quite a few R3V social events.

Smoking is not common at all for the non-drinking events.

I would say that smoking increases at least 20X, (yes, seriously. 1 smoker = 20 smokers, no joke) for a drinking R3V social event.

Never have, but nobody that I was close to smoked while I was growing up either. Can't stand the smell of it, costs money, and just isn't good for you, thus I never had any interest.

Only smoke some hurb here and there. Cigs are bad and will only smoke one if I'm drunk.

I fucking hate that shit, if you come up to me all smoke ass smelling I will shoot you a look of disdain that will make you ashamed to be alive.

                          fuck cigarettes.
Lol I'm the same way. I hate the smell of cigarettes now that I quit. I've also developed quite the holier than thou attitude on telling my friends ways to quit too.
