    Should I do it?

1988 Volvo 740 Turbo, for sale in my neighborhood.

    $950.

120k miles, decent cosmetic condition. White, needs a good cleaning and detailing. Interior looks good. needs new taillight, and front side marker.

Manual tranny. Don't know how it drives yet, just saw it tonight parked on the street. Seller listed a bunch of new parts on the for sale sign but I do not recall what they are.

    But it's a turbo, and it's 950. Should I go for it?

I like these! They remind me of E30s somehow...must be the era. If you like it, go for it! $950 is cheap

Yeah unless the thing doesn't run at all, not really a bad deal. Even if it lasts me 6 months. (which it won't because inevitibly, I'll end up sinking money into it.)

Oh right I forgot. The windshield is cracked. Would need replacing. Gonna start looking up Volvo part prices now.

Anybody know the rules for cracked windshields in California? I remember in NY you would not pass inspection.

You can buy a car for 200 bucks and regret it, because you could end up spending thousands on that "one last thing you're gonna fix before you say fuckit". If it seems to run well and has no issues, buy it. If it seems shitty...be careful.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

It's a Volvo. They are wrong no matter what the price.
