Demeaning a women to pre-50's stereotypes of a house-wife that can't do more than cook and clothe is serious business. It's the proliferation of such comments to women in important places, such as Hilary Clinton, Laura Chinchilla, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, or even past profound women (eg ada lovelace, Madame Curie), is perpetuating a hostile environment and negative relations with more than half of the world's population, and alienating people. People include men and women.

I never said that women, or men, can't choose to stay at home and raise their children while their spouse works. No, I never said anything close to that. that's your own damn social mores speaking. there is nothing natural about social conditioning. there are ancient tribes that have female dominated societies and the men try to look pretty and dress up. they think that's natural.

you realize in other parts of the world there are many women in congress or heads of government? i think the swedes at one point recently (maybe still) had more women in congress than men.
