I can't find any e34 540 though. I looked at that six speed e39 today but it was very poorly maintained and the engine wasn't so smooth.

I just looked at a 95 525i that is mint. It's auto though and I hate that. Drives very smooth and suspension is in tact. On top of that, everything works. Eh, as good as I'm going yo get in Orlando

I tend to disagree, if you drive pretty easyfooted in stop and go traffic- you will get ALOT better mileage than the V8, plus the V8 with an automatic is a turd anyway (100hp more or not). And being that you are in Florida- The engine compartments keep the motors too hot and everything plastic and rubber tends to get very brittle-very fast. touch 1 thing and you WILL be replacing EVERYTHING on the rear side of the V8 motors. they are good motors when they aren't leaking, but expensive to correctly maintain.

I am pretty happy with my little 2.5 E39 5 speed. It's slow as molasses, but gets everywhere very comfortable.

Picked it up today. 95 525i. 193k but the cleanest car I've ever seen. It has service records, receipts, and the entire original owners information (I mean everything in mint condition. The leather binder is flawless and every manual, all 6 or 7 of them, are mint.)

I found records that the previous owner was an old lady that was also disabled (probably just too old). It drives great, just could use some new rotors. Paid just a smidge over 4k for car, tax, tag, registration, and dealer fees. Not the best deal I've seen, but the cleanest car I've seen.

        Pics soon if anyone cares

535i is worse for gas than 540i.
4k for 525i, it BETTER BE MINT WITH RECORDS OF ALL NEW SUSPENSION/BRAKES/COOLING.

it needs new rotors. cooling was updated a little over a year ago. suspension works great.

The absolute cheapest I found was 3k and it wasn't running correctly. everything else is 4k and up.

I took some ultra-generic photos of the car tonight. Couldn't sleep so I went out for a little.

the paint is in excellent condition. a few chips up front, but nothing more than road wear. I'll get around to filling them eventually, but until then I'm just going to do some basic "I just bought a neused car" things (new filters all around, new oil, new fluids, figure out what needs to be fixed).
