    Bmw m5 0-60

There has been much debate over the E39 M5's "real" 0-60 time. I took a video of my stock 2001 to see what the beast could do. Recorded 4.89 seconds to 60 on the first run. Tires are fairly bald, so when new treads show up I'd expect a minor improvement. Enjoy!

That's really impressive. Not only from the car, but just from your driving that you can get so close to what BMW claims.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Thanks guys! I was pretty surprised too, but she pulls damn hard so it wasn't overly shocking. Can't wait to try again when I get my Michelin Super Sports.

Your new tires probably won't help your times. Bald tires have better dry traction.

Color me inspired. When I get 225s on my car I'm going to try the same format as you.

Speedos are usually off by a bit on BMWs and I believe the litmus test is 62mph, no?

Tru dat. BMW speedos are a little optimistic.

Is anyone using an app for 0-60 timing?

You see 62mph, only because that is 100km/h

So the 0-100 is what they do in Europe, yo.

I have used both a $2 and a $15 iPhone app to measure acceleration. Both were terrible. The shift from first gear to second is violent enough to where the app freaks out and says "run over." 0-35mph runs aren't exactly what I want timed. I might try them on the drag strip, to see if the longer I accelerate, the more accurate it is
