But have you ever tried racing either of them? Definitely not the same as spirited street driving.
This. The only time I would agree with finding wheels/tires and making them fit is if it's 285 R-comps. Comment

The Miata and E30 are both great cars. Eerily similar in feel. Both are lively, willing, and generally very fun to toss around. The Miata's chassis is more of a wet noodle, than the E30, but it's suspension outclasses the BMW by a fair margin.

90-93 (1.6): Motor is more "rev happy". The one I owned felt like you were really wringing it out, without really getting anywhere. Only LSD available is the Viscus kind. And if it is still in the car, it is probably shot.

94-97 (1.8): A bit heavier, and the motor produce a bit more power and torque. Torsen LSD finally became available. They are 1.5 type, so you get just a bit of lock up, going into the corner, which aids in rotation.

99-01 (NB): A bit better suspension. Heavier yet. Also, more power. I feel these are tighter, interior wise. I prefer the feel of the NA, but there is no doubt that the NB is faster around a track, mod for mod.

Best: 90-93, NB VVT motor and brakes, coilovers, reduce weight, sticky tires, roll bar, add some stiffness = soup!

I still own the car in my sig. No longer boosted, but was running the older FMII kit. At least 250whp. With 225/45-15's would have no issue keeping up with Corvettes, STi's, Evo's... at our local track.

Currently running the car below in CSP Solo. Simply amazing machine.

I left the door cards and carpet since I still drive it on the street, but ditched A/C, P/S and properly depowered rack. But have all the other stuff done, except power.

You still have any of that FM kit laying around? :DNeed parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com

Pit crew makes the front end not the wheels, renob. That's like faulting BBS for wheels on an E30, it's wasn't their decision.

Is the NB Miata's chassis more flexible than an E30's? Or do you mean the NA Miata's are wet noodles?Comment
