Why having your gas pumped sucks.

In Florida, not only do you pump your gas, but they want the shit pre-paid. We don't fuck around down here. We have shit to do! lol -
I went through Jersey once. Took almost an hour to get the car fueled up because they had one Mexican for every four pumps.
I was pretty pissed as I was meeting a guy on Staten Island to pick up a motorcycle I got on ebay. He was super pressed for time and ended up going into NYC to do something while he waited, then I get to his place and had to wait another hour for him to get back.
I really hated my experience in NJ. Really really.Leave a comment:

I didnt even know there were still places you could pump before paying. I dont even look honestly, I just swipe the card immediately, pump and go. I know I can cover whatever the final toll is. Like said earlier the only time I am putting in a select amount is because I wont be driving the car and dont want to risk gas going bad.Leave a comment:

I dont give a shit if they want to offer the service and I get to choose but I havent had any issues ever regarding pumping gas. Rain, check. Most real gas stations have massive awngings over the pumps so rain isnt really an issue.
And as for "$5 did you pay in change" you are aware they make a $5 bill in US currency arent you?Leave a comment:

I disagree. Driving is a privilege, and this includes all aspects of keeping my car on the road whether it's pleasant or not. Plus, if I'm not allowed to operate a fuel pump then how can I be allowed to operate a car? That's what's really confusing me.Leave a comment:

living in rochester NY now its nice since id rather pump my own. it does suck balls when it's 10 degrees and snowing and you gotta stand out there.
coming from growing up in NJ i never had an issue cause i always filled it. only problem is someone putting 87 in when i say premium or say 93. guessing force of habit they hit the 87 button.
it's dumb though, your job is fucking simple. and many states have proved youre not even necessary. any simple job that people fuck up just astounds me. take some pride in your work, no matter what it is. drive pizza like a champ. pump gas like a boss. work that cashier like a 2 dollar hooker.Leave a comment:

I live in Southern Oregon and have never had a problem with people spilling gas on paint or putting in the wrong amount. Really just depends where you are. Not many immigrants in my area.Leave a comment:

Urban areas have been going to the Pay before you pump (ryan is talking about swiping at the pump) since fuel prices have been going up drive offs have been going up. Many rural and smaller towns still let you pump then pay. Just depends on the stations Policy.Leave a comment:

When the rain is coming down sideways and it's 35F outside, being able to slide your card through your slightly lowered window and remain warm inside your car trumps any autonomy involved with pumping your own gas.
I've been driving in Oregon for 13yrs and have NEVER had a problem with an attendant.
Who puts $5 of gas in? Did you intend to pay him in change?Leave a comment:
