Not being allowed to pump your own gas in certain states pisses me off to no end. Last time I was driving through Oregon, stopped at a gas station and parked at the pump furthest from the store. As I'm waiting for the 1 attendant working, 2 other people pull up and park closer to the store than I did. Wait another 5 minutes and I hear over the loud speaker, "I'm the only one here so you have to come inside to pay". Everyone gets out of their car and walks in and since I'm furthest from the store, I'm now last in line. Now the genius employee takes the payment, goes out to pump the gas, waits til it is finished and comes back in to take the second payment. Does the same thing for the second and then finally for me. What really takes the cake is since it took so fucking long for her to get to my car, apparently gas prices changed in their system and I pay 5 cents for a gallon then everyone else and there is nothing she can do about it. 30m later I leave the gas station and get back on the road because god forbid 3 people spent 5 minutes pumping their own gas and went on there way. Fuck Oregon.

Chances are their boss tells them to pull this kind of shit, probably makes more money selling in large volumes.

I hate that about Jersey. What is the point of not having self service gas stations? More jobs?

Traveling through at night is a fucking pain because 90% of these places aren't open at 3am and that makes for a wonder oh shit moment when the gas light turns on.

I live in jersey, we don't pump our gas.
Two weeks ago my friend bought me lunch, and in return, I would pay him back by paying him in gas. $5, which is what the lunch cost. Now I know $5 is fairly uncommon to say, and I can see where these broken english speaking men (no racism here, gas attendents in my area all can't speak english well at all) can mess up. I ask for five, my voice is very loud and clear, there's no mistaking to any other person I said five. He puts the nozzle in the car and gas fills away. About three minutes pass and we're like "Why is this taking so long?"
$50 .
What. the. fuck. I mean what are you going to do except yell at him and be like "I said $5! What don't you understand!" He can't take the gas away, there's no way around it, I'm stuck with giving my friend a nearly full tank.

so today, went to a different gas station, asked for $10, because I'm not planning on using it this week and it's for sale so there's no point in me putting more gas. He puts the nozzle in, walks away. Too much time has passed and then I look up at the price. $48, he filled it up. How can TEN possibly sound like FULL to his ears? Is this a fucking joke?
I mean I know it's a $38 difference, yaddy yaddy yadda, but regardless, what the fuck man.
