It's not just that it would be nice to offer to pay back the 45, it's that he is OBLIGATED to pay it back. The gas went into his car, and he will be using it. It seems pretty reasonable to expect him to pay back the extra 45.
And with the way gas prices are now, it will probably be up in price next week anyway, so he might even have saved a little money in the long run.
Then again, I have seen Jersey Shore. Logic isn't exactly their strong suit in Jersey.Leave a comment:

Right.
And my guess is if they are worrying about nickels and dimes and about who pays back who over every cent... I doubt ones going to offer to pay back $45 lol.

Who gives a shit? It's all going into the tank and getting used anyway. It's not like gas has an expiration date. What gets me is that your buddy still expected you to pay the full amount for the gas? He didn't pay you back the extra 45?Leave a comment:

They can in NJ too I do it all the time, never had a problem in the 10+ years I've been driving. Only thing I have noticed they don't do is sometimes spin the gas cap on tight enough on my newer cars and sets the evap system fault and throws a code. But just taking it off tightening it and driving for a bit fixes it.Leave a comment:

I don't know if it is different in NJ (I doubt it), but they can enter in either amount of money or amount of volume in Oregon. They do it all the time when filling up gas cans. Just set it to the size of the can and let it run.Leave a comment:

I've told them how many gallons before and 3.xx doesn't really get you that far, I get 30+ mpg too.... I don't understand why you would put $5 or $10 specially if you want to AVOID putting gas in as many times as possible and not having to deal with stupid people....Leave a comment:

Pull the money out of your pocket before hand . Say a 5 Dollar Bill. Walk right up to the person pumping it and look him dead in the eye while you put the bill up in front of his face. The snap the back of the bill with your middle finger as if flicking the back of someones earlobe. Make sure the bill has that "pop" sound after practicing.
Then hand it to the person at the counter and walk away!
If that does not solve it. Drive away with only leaving the amount of money you indicated as the transaction with the popping of the bill will be filmed on their close circuit cameras that all stations have. Then when and "if" pulled over ask to go back to the station and review the tape as it clearly shows a very plain gesture and the bills denomination. Even better "pop"/flick the bill and then present to the video camera and pause for a moement so that a good shot can be taken.
Dont take shit my man!
I just had a guy throw one of my aluminum cans in another can before weighing them. I waited till he was good and done and then said reweigh them WITH the one can that was thrown off to the side. The difference in weight is negligible but the point is HUGE!
The point being , dont fuck with me or other people or I will make sure to waste your fucken time any way I can. Its what makes America such a great country right?Leave a comment:

3.xx lasts a long time when you're not planning on driving your car for the week and you get 30mpg...
10 gallons isnt an acceptable value, they can only put into the screen monetary amounts so that's out of the question.Leave a comment:

NJ sucks for many reasons, but thats not as big of a deal.
Also who puts $5 & $10 in anymore.... thats like 1.5 gallons and 3.xx gallons.
Second guy probably thought you meant 10 as in 10 gallons, give him $5 he won't put anymore then $5 in.
never happened to me, but maybe they think they won't get a tip or something idk. Don't know why people tip them anyways.Leave a comment:

While not being able to pump your gas can suck, it's not NEARLY as big a deal as everyone is making it out to be. And every time I've ever filled up my snowmobile, they let me do it. I've seen the same with motorcycles and even nice cars. If you ask, they will generally let you, unless the attendant is a dick.
It's also nice to not have to get out of the car when it is 10 below, snowing and windy. :)Leave a comment:

If anyone has noticed who lives in NJ, when you try to give them cash beforehand, nearly EVERY gas station attendant will give you an attitude, or a dirty look, or walk away and not except it. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm?Leave a comment:

I got bitched at for pumping my own in that shit hole state. I just acted like I didnt understand English and kept on going. One guy screaming in Indian(dot)-Engrish and another in German, had to be a good time for all around us. I refused to go in and pre-pay like some piece of shit without credit.
If they even tried that shit with the bike Id probably have to hit someone, I know those losers would get gas on the paint.
As for driving off, you could argue, let them call the police and waste a lot of time to get some free gas. Id think there has to be a schema for this rip-off shit.Leave a comment:

Add that to another reason why I wouldn't want to visit NJ.Leave a comment:
